Slate nails are used in roofing works to fix asbestos-cement roofing sheets (slate). Slate nails are a prefabricated construction of a building nail and a cap.
The nails are made from general purpose mild steel wire and have a smooth surface and round cross-section.
Slate nail caps are made of thin sheet galvanized steel by, thanks to which the heads of slate nails tightly fit to the surface of slate, repeating the curvature of the surface, without damaging the roofing material.

Slate nails are transported by all types of transport in accordance with the transportation rules applicable to this type of transport.
- Slate nail cores are manufactured from general purpose low carbon steel wire
- The nail head is obtained by rolling a cap made of thin sheet galvanized steel onto the nail head (rod).
- The nail rod is rigidly attached with a galvanized head.
- Slate nail head caps are made of thin sheet galvanized steel.
- Slate nails are packed in corrugated cardboard boxes.
